Meet Kayla Mahoney
How long have you been in the business?
I am a new broker in the commercial real estate sector, which began in June 2021!
What is/are your specialty/specialties?
My specialties are retail and industrial, with an emphasis on leasing. I will diversify my focus once I execute the remaining coursework of my CCIM in 2022.
What do you think sets you apart from other agents here in the Denver Metro?
As a conceptual artist, I lean on my critical thinking skills and the ability to read a room to foster relationships through networking. My drive stems from the fierce work ethic instilled in my upbringing as a second-generation American, and my enthralling experience as an artist living in New York City for six years. These unique skills directly correlate with my career shift, which led to a prosperous first 60 days at Madison Commercial. Since hanging my license at Madison, I have executed two retail leases and have an active industrial listing for lease.
What’s the biggest challenge your clients face in this current market?
Most of my clientele is in the cannabis industry, and it has been challenging to find space due to zoning restrictions. I also believe the unpredictability of the pandemic has led to instabilities in multifamily and hospitality sectors of the industry.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I spend my spare time developing a non-profit to help implement art programs in Denver Metro for at risk youth. I also enjoy wheel throwing in my ceramics studio, traveling internationally, skiing, disc golf, hiking, camping, throwing a football, reading art theory, and hanging with my cat, Kitt.
